Process Paper
When I heard Mr. Walsdorf tell the class we were doing a research paper on a turn in history I had no idea what to do and how to present it. Then when we started to get to go the library for research I still didn't have a clue what to do, so I pulled up the list on Mr. Walsdorf's website for some suggestions. My favorite one to do was the Beatles, but that was already taken. Then I wanted to do Henry Ford and the auto-mobile industry, but unfortunately it was taken, too. As if it was made personally for me, I saw the perfect topic, Jackie Robinson and his impact on baseball, history, and the civil rights. This was a great topic since it tied a change in his history with the game I love, baseball.
Immediately, research began and I gathered some very broad information like his birthday, family, and other typical things like his childhood. After this broad information I started to get more detailed information on my subtopics: biography, baseball, sports, and the civil rights. Even though I've already gathered the information, it still takes a while to put the notes into words. Since we're in the library everyday I decided to use all of the resources around me and I got two biographies on Jackie Robinson. These books were super helpful and they gave me piles of important information, like his life during the army. Now I have pretty much gathered all the information I need, but I just need to put it into words.
I decided to present this with a website since it was more interesting than just a normal paper that I was considering doing. The hardest part of it was creating it since almost all the websites I used to make it required money. But then, I found Weebly a free way to make a website that looks decent. I started by adding pictures and titles to it, then I created the right number of pages. So all I have to do is type in the information.
All of my primary source have been gathered now, and I'm almost done typing. The words are starting to flow out and I'm nearing completion. There's only one paragraph left on the paper and this process paper. Finally, I finished and all that's left is this paragraph. Now that I've finished I can relax and give Mr. Walsdorf my domain name. Overall, this research project was a success.
